3 Reasons Paper Flowers Are Better Than Real Ones
So this might be controversial…But I think paper flowers are better than real ones!
Number 1 - The obvious one - They don’t die!
I love real flowers, they look and smell incredible for the first few days, maybe even a week or two after you get them.
But then slowly but surely they start to die.
And no matter how long you drag it out by giving them flower food and fresh water, and removing all the brown bits, at some point the inevitable has to happen.
Paper flowers on the other hand, will live for years!
You don’t need to water them, you don’t need to do anything other than the occasional dusting really. Just make sure you keep them out of direct sunlight so they don’t fade.
Number 2 - They’re great for anyone with allergies or in hospital.
If you or someone you know suffers from hay fever or specific allergies, paper flowers are the perfect way to share some blooms with them, without any risks.
They’re particularly great if you know someone in hospital, as a lot of hospitals don’t let you take in fresh flowers.
And Number 3 - They’re actually cheaper!
Yep, you heard that right!
Seriously nobody ever believes me when I tell them that but it is true!
I’ll give you an example using our Mary bouquet. We have 2 sizes for sale, the standard size at CAD $250 and the large at $550. Which sounds alot right?
Let’s take the large as an example.
The large Mary bouquet contains 19 flower stems of beautiful blue and white flowers including hydrangeas, blueberries, and eucalyptus. If you try to buy a similar size bouquet from one of the local florists here in Calgary, it’ll set you back about CAD $100. Ok, ok, I hear you. 550 compared to 100?! Right, I know! But, that $100 bouquet is going to start to die soon, the last ones I received started to die after 2 days.
But let’s say you’re lucky and yours survive for a full 7 days. That bouquet has cost you over $14 PER DAY.
If you wanted to have real flowers every day of the year, at that rate they would cost you well over $5000 a year!!
Guess how long our $550 paper flowers last before they die? I’m not going to say forever, because, well how could I test that?! But what I will say is they definitely last alot longer than a year.
Most of the flowers in the video are at least 18 months old. They’ve survived us moving house too. They’re showing no signs of wear, and I’m confident they’ll still look as good for a long time to come.
I even shipped some of my early flowers from Dubai to Canada almost 2 years ago, and they’re still holding up just as well despite sitting in a shipping container for 3 months.
So even if you get bored and change your mind, you could buy 9 large bouquets a year for the price of fresh ones! And that of course is if you buy them pre-made from our paper flower shop. If you make them yourself they’re even cheaper!
So what do you think? Have I convinced you that paper flowers are better than the real thing? Let me know your opinions in the comments below.
