The coral charm peony is such an iconic flower and is one of my most highly requested paper flower templates, so lets learn how to make one from crepe paper. You can download the template in both PDF and SVG formats here. Then once you have your paper peony template you can watch the step by step paper flower tutorial by clicking on the video below.
Our paper peony is split into several stages. We’ll start with the green carpels in the centre, create a fluffy yellow fringe for the stamen, create a delicate gradient of peach, coral and pink petals, and then complete our paper flower with detailed sepals and lifelike paper leaves. And of course, I love to finish off my paper flowers by thickening the stem as usual!

The coral charm peony is a great flower to use colouring techniques on, I think it makes such a difference to how realistic your paper flowers look, and the great thing is that they’re pretty easy to do on this paper flower, you just need a little bit of patience. If you do fancy giving some or all of the colouring steps a go, then I’ve also created a few more in depth colouring videos to show you all of the steps I do to colour my paper peonies. You can focus on the carpels and stamen, the petals or the leaves, or even better - all of them! The videos for each are linked below.
This can be quite a time consuming paper flower, mainly because we need to allow time for the glue, paint and Mod Podge to dry between stages. So this is a great opportunity to try making your paper flowers in bulk. You can be working on one flower while the others are drying, and focusing on each stage at a time actually makes the process overall quicker. So you can have a whole bouquet of paper peonies before you know it!

I also have a quick overview video of the process if you want to get a feel for the project before you get started, you can watch that below.
