Got A Question?
I often get asked the same questions when it comes to making paper flowers, so I've done my best to answer all of your paper flower making questions below. If there's something else you'd like some help with, please drop me an email at blooms@tamuchly.com

Which Crepe Paper Should I Use?
You'll need a selection of good quality crepe paper. I recommend either German or Italian crepe.
There are various weights of paper available, and you should definitely give them all a try to find your favourite! But to get started, I suggest you use the German Heavyweight Crepe if you can get it. Italian 180gsm is a good alternative if not.
Do you use the UV spray before you make the flower or after it's done?
I would recommend doing it at the end when you’ve finished making the flower. If you did it at the start you might end up wasting some of the spray on your off-cuts, and also the glue might not stick quite so well.
Where do you buy your materials from?
Check out my supplies pages for links to all my favourite products and where to buy them, plus links to suppliers around the World.
Templates & Tutorials
Why are some of your templates free and others paid?
Generally my free paper flower templates are aimed at beginners, or are suitable for paper florists of all abilities.
I offer some free paper flower templates so that new paper florists can give paper flower making a try without having a big expense upfront. Paper flower materials can get expensive, so with all of the supplies you need to get started, the last thing you need is to pay for a template as well!
I offer the free templates as a good will gesture, and as a thank you I hope that you will continue to be a part of the paper flower community that I'm building.
That said, as much as I would love to be able to give away all of my paper flower templates for free, I do have to charge a small amount to cover my costs, and I do need to make a living from my small business in order to keep bringing you more content. However I always offer freebies and discounts when I launch new templates, but these are only available to my email list subscribers, so make sure you sign up to get the best deals!
How do I download a paper flower template?
Watch the How to use a paper flower template video for step by step instructions.
The process is the same for both free and paid templates.
- Choose your templates, and add them to your cart. You can add as many templates as you'd like to your cart in one go, just like if you were shopping online. You don't need to complete the checkout multiple times.
- Click the cart button, and then follow the pages to checkout.
FREE TEMPLATES
- You need to enter an address, however if you're only chosing free templates, this doesn't need to be your actual address, I don't use it, it just can't be removed from the checkout process.
- After you enter an address and click continue, your order will show up as free.
- A link will appear to download your paper flower template.
- The link will also be emailed to you.
- Click the link and then save the file.
PAID TEMPLATES
- If you have a discount code, add it to the discount box on the payment page. (If it's not working for any reason please email blooms@tamuchly.com)

How do I cut out my petals?
I have a video showing 6 tips for how to cut out your paper flowers. Watch it here.
Should I choose the SVG file or the PDF?
For some of my templates I offer the choice of SVG files or PDF files. (I am working to add this option to more of them soon!)
PDF = Cutting by hand
SVG = Cutting by machine
If you plan to cut your petals by hand (ie. using a pair of scissors) then you need the PDF file.
If you plan to cut your petals with a cutting machine, such as the Cricut Maker, then you need the SVG file.
The SVG file also includes the PDF file, so you will get both.
However, if you are cutting by hand, you do not need the SVG file. (You wont be able to use it without a cutting machine anyway!)
I have a discount code but it's not working?
I do get this question alot, and most of the time the code has either expired or is being entered in the wrong place.
The discount code box can be found on the payment page, enter your code and check that the total price updates before completing the checkout.
Please only enter discount codes within this website, discount codes will not work if you use them on third party payment platforms, such as PayPal.
If it's not working for any reason please email blooms@tamuchly.com.
I'm trying to claim one of the 5 free templates from your new launch, but it's not working?
If you are trying to use one of the 5 freebie codes which are sent to my email subscribers when I launch a new product, then you need to be quick!
There are only 5 freebies available, and they always get claimed within the first hour.
If you're trying to use a code for a freebie that isn't working and it has been more than 1 hour since the email was sent, then it's likely that they were all aready taken, and that will be why the code won't work.
If for any reason the code wont work right after the email is sent, please email me immediately at blooms@tamuchly.com so I can check if there's any left for you. I might not be able to respond straight away, but provided I can see the timestamp of your email, if there were any of the 5 freebies left at this time I will honour the code and send you a personalised one to use instead. However, this is only valid if they weren't all taken at the time of your email!
I do offer a launch discount for each new product to my email list subscribers too, so if you're not lucky enough to get one of the freebies, you can enter this code instead for a discount. There is a time limit for this code though so be sure to check the email for the expiry date and time.

Paper Flower Care
How do I store my paper flowers if I want to put them away for a while?
Protect your flowers from moisture with a clean bin liner, and tie a knot at the top. Surround this with kraft paper, crinkle paper, or tissue paper, for padding. And then seal inside a cardboard box. Make sure to store the box the correct way up, in a warm and dry place. Also don't store anything else on top of it!
How long do paper flowers last?
They should last you for years and years if you look after them well.
To extend the life of your paper flowers, you can spray them with a UV coating which will help to protect from fading and moisture damage.
I also recommend that you display your paper blooms out of direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure can make them fade.
Obviously they don’t need any water, but try not to get them wet/avoid damp environments too!
How do I clean my paper flowers?
You can give them a little shake and turn them upside down every now and again to remove any dust.
Belive it or not, you can also vacuum them! Just use a low suction setting, and don't get too close with the nozzle.
If you want to be extra careful, then use a clean makeup brush or artists brush to gently dust off the petals.
Other than that they should last years without any maintenance.

Pre-Made Paper Flowers
Do you sell your paper flowers?
Yes! Although my main focus is on teaching how to make paper flowers, rather than offering them for sale. So it's not really something that I advisertise.
Generally all of the flowers I have available for sale are those which I have created tutorials for. If you are interested in purchasing one of my paper flowers that you've seen in a tutorial, please email me blooms@tamuchly.com
Please note, shipping outside of Canada can be very expensive because of the size of box needed to ensure the flower doesn't get damaged. If you are based elsewhere in the World, I'm also happy to put you in touch with other paper florists who are more local to you.
Do you do custom orders?
I do! However, experience has taught me that there is alot of extra work involved in custom orders compared to pre-made flower sales. And so I do have a minimum order value of CAD $200 for any custom orders.
If you're interested in a custom paper flower order, please email me at blooms@tamuchly.com
