Learn how to create beautiful paper flowers from crepe paper with my downloadable hydrangea template.

Skill Level - Intermediate + Advanced

This paper flower template is suitable for intermediate and advanced paper florists.

The hydrangea can be a little more fiddly and time consuming to make, so I would recommend starting with some easier flowers first if you are new to paper flower making.

Materials List

Heavyweight German crepe paper - I'm using Lia Griffith Snowflake and Pine (I dyed the white paper using alcohol inks to create the blue)
Scrap crepe paper in any colour
Floral tape - to match leaf colour
Floral wire, paper or cloth covered - 1 x 18 gauge, 1 x 20 gauge, 9 x 24 gauge
Tacky glue
Small pot and cocktail stick (optional)
Scissors
Pliers

Isopropyl Alcohol
Alcohol Inks - Tim Holtz by Ranger - Cool Peri, Stonewashed, Indigo

Finished size is approx. 6" diameter.

TIP - These look great if you group a few of them together to make one huge hydrangea bloom!

Trim the wire to whatever height you need, mine is about 15" tall.
