Product variants

Salal, also known as Lemon Leaf, is a great foliage stem to use with almost any paper flower. It's a great filler stem, and can also be used to create huge of impact where you want to focus on a few statement flowers too. It's a very popular choice in real flower bouquets.

This paper leaf template is suitable for beginners and experienced paper florists alike.

Time

30 mins - 1 hour (excluding dry time)

As an experienced paper florist I can make this leaf stem in about 30 minutes (or less if I'm working in batches). When you're first starting out I would allow extra time to get the hang of things, typically around 1 hour per stem.

Materials List

Heavyweight German or Italian 140g or 180g crepe paper in 2 shades of green.
Floral Tape or Green Crepe to wrap the stem
Floral Wire - Paper or fabric covered - 1 x 20 gauge, 3 x 22 gauge
Scissors
Pliers
Tacky glue
Mod Podge - Gloss
Mop brush or Artists brush
Cocktail Stick and small pot
Scoring Tool
Prismacolor Pencils

Dimensions

Finished total size of the leaves is approx. 8" wide by 6" tall (minimum). You can make the overall height bigger by increasing the distance between the leaves.

Trim the stem to whatever height you need.
